Robert Tiso was born in London in 1968 and spent most of his life in Italy where he still lives. His musical education begun studying classical guitar and ever since has evolved in many directions.
His interest for glass music started after attending a live performance by glass harp virtuoso Petr Spatina in 2001. This fantastic performer was able to capture the audience with his "celestial" sound, but most surprisingly he showed the full potential possibilities of an instrument that's commonly considered as a simple party trick.
In 2002 Robert Tiso made his first glass harp and, since then, most of his artistic motivation was spent mastering and evolving this instrument.
His performances are mainly as a solo artist, he believes this is the best way to give the chance to fully appreciate the magical sound of his crystal wine glasses. most of his repertoire is arranged to perform multi voice accompaniment and melody simultaneously, taking the glass harp's possibilities to a completely new level. Even so he collaborates with several artists in live performances, studio recordings, theatre acts and multimedia productions.
